# What do the invoice statuses mean?

- **Open.** Made, not paid yet.
- **Paid.** The payment has settled. This flips on its own when the money arrives, so you do not mark an invoice paid by hand.
- **Canceled.** You voided it before it was paid.

A paid invoice cannot be cancelled.
